White Mountain Karate is a locally owned, brother-operated martial arts school in Holderness that offers traditional karate instruction for students of all ages and experience levels. Our goal is to provide a supportive atmosphere where students can challenge themselves, build lasting confidence, and develop skills that carry over into everyday life. Through dedicated training, students strengthen their focus, discipline, respect, perseverance, and self-defense abilities while becoming part of a welcoming community. Christian Maine
Owner, Master Instructor
Christian Maine founded White Mountain Karate on March 7, 2010. He began training in Uechi-Ryu karate in 1990 and currently holds the rank of Nanadan (7th-degree black belt). He also holds the title of Kyoshi (Master Instructor), recognizing his experience, leadership, and commitment to the art. Christian is a senior member of the Uechi-Ryu International Karate Association and remains dedicated to preserving the traditions and standards of his system while continuing to grow as both a martial artist and instructor. As a father of two grown daughters who were raised in the dojo, Christian places a strong emphasis on disciplined character development, personal growth, and lifelong learning. His teaching reflects not only technical training, but also the development of confidence, respect, and resilience in his students. From early in his own training, Christian knew he would one day open a dojo and help others reach their goals through the study of karate. That vision continues today at White Mountain Karate, where he is committed to helping students of all ages build strong foundations both on and off the mat. Outside the dojo, he enjoys spending time outdoors and staying active whenever possible.
Brett Maine
Master Instructor
Brett Maine began his training in Uechi-Ryu Karate in 1992. He currently holds the rank of Godan (5th-degree black belt) and serves as the Senpai (senior student) of White Mountain Karate. He has also earned the title of Shihan (Associate Master Instructor) and is dedicated to giving back to the students of the dojo through his leadership and experience. Outside of the dojo, Brett enjoys spending time with his family—especially his granddaughter—and continues to pursue his interest in learning to play the guitar.
